Climate Change: Talking Points

August 9, 2010

Trying to halt the progress of global climate change is of course one of the largest sustainability issues today, and something all of us should be concerned with. Unfortunately, there are still some “change-doubters” out there. The process of conveying scientific information to the public fascinates me: how to “frame” information in ways that will resonate with different groups of people, how to shift attitudes so that people are more open-minded to the science, etc. In fact, some of my research focuses on these issues, although dealing with wildlife, not climate change.

Today, Dr. Joseph Romm at the blog Climate Progress shares some ideas from physicist John Cook for one-line talking points to dispute many of the common misconceptions about climate change science, complete with links to the relevant pages of the excellent blog Skeptical Science. It’s worth a look!
