Getting Started…Again

December 19, 2012

Well, it’s been a while (8 months, to be exact!). A lot has happened in the meantime — I finished my PhD and started a new job, to start with (more on that later) — but I’m excited to get back into a regular schedule with this blog.

This morning I had a nice surprise that helped motivate this post. I won a prize! The amazing Out Walking the Dog blog selected me (at random, with the help of a dog) to win a copy of Still the Same Hawk: Reflections on Nature and New York (edited by John Waldman). I’d like to thank Melissa for the kind shout-out, as well. Go check out her blog!

Welcome back! Look forward to reading your new posts. I enjoyed reading your winning essay; the night offers such wonders. I had a look a the review of the book and it sounds intriguing … ‘dualism as the defining quality of urban nature…’ How true.

Thanks! It’s nice to be back 🙂

The book came in the mail today, and I’m looking forward to reading it! I’m sure it’ll come up in a post at some point.
