I’ve always loved mosses. And lichens (not the same, but similarly beautiful!). Those wonderful organisms that cling to rocks and trees and other surfaces in amazing colors. This is a “dog walk” snap — a tree in our neighborhood with a perfect little pool of water and some gorgeous colors.

Thanks for calling attention to how interesting mosses and lichens can be. We have some interesting mosses in the wooded areas around our house, and I’d be curious to read more about them. Any books you’d recommend to identify and learn a bit about mosses?
